Too much travel, glitter spray, cold, moisture, sweat and just use can damage and make ostrich feather fans loose their 'fluff' appeal. Feathers are a natural product and require a little love every now and again.
Running the feathers through your fingers and agitating them helps to bring back the fluffiness. If that doesn't do the trick, the next step is to apply steam. You can use a tea kettle or a hair dryer. Use the steam gently and be careful not to burn yourself, especially with the tea kettle option. I have a tendency to burn myself just pin curling my hair, so I prefer the hair dryer option. Lightly blow the feathers or steam them until they fluff back to their gorgeous state!
